so fresh and so clean clean

I was re-reading my dentist post, and had a sudden mom memory.

She was obsessed with these things. Always had them in her purse and in the bathroom.
And yet, it wasn't unusual to find used ones in the car on the floor, in the couches, on the carpet, well pretty much everywhere. How did the get there? nobody ever knew.
She had some weird ways...but at least her teeth were always cleaned out.

I wanna be a dennnnn-tist.

Went to the dentist today.... 0 cavities once again. woo hoo.

I love going to the dentist. As long as can remember, the trips to the dentist have been regular (every 6 months). I remember as a small child going to the U of W dental school to have our check-ups. Getting the cool red tablets that you chew to see how dirty your teeth are, getting the free toothbrush...loved it all.
Throughout childhood we had the coolest dentist. Dr. Rossi. He and his assistants were so nice, so awesome. When I went through a period where the flouride would make me gag, the Hygienist would put it on with a Q-tip and then hold my lips away while it did it's work...awesome right?
Even going through years of braces, with all that comes with that. The tightenings, the mouth being pulled in all directions, the rubber bands, the impressions...everything not awesome...I still love getting stuff done to my teeth.
I think knowing my teeth are clean, healthy, and I gotta admit...having the dentist tell you how beautiful your teeth are every visit makes me feel kind of good.

I love the dentist.

I'm a survivor..I'm gonna make it...

Is anybody else as excited as me about the new season of survivor?
I had given up on this show last season, and after 2 episodes I quit watching it...
and then I saw the announcement for the upcoming season.

Heroes vs. villains

I am so excited!

4 of my favorite players are back (Colby-yummy, James-double yummy, Boston Rob-hilarious, and Rupert-just funny to hear) and I hope they do well.
Although I do have to admit I am a little annoyed with having to put up with Randy, Coach, and Pavarti (sp?) once again..man they are annoying.
Plus, is it really fair that this show was filmed before last season aired...so while everyone knows each others game play and past acts...Evil Russell from Season 19, is an unknown, and thus able to pull all his old tricks again...Hopefully Boston Rob can sniff out this rat and get him eliminated quickly.

The game starts next week...

Can't wait to see how this whole season plays out.

let's give em' something to talk about

It's amazing to me how babies change so quickly. It's seems like it was a just a couple weeks ago that I was so worried about Q not talking...and now she is saying/or trying to say more and more words. I can tell she is trying to repeat all the words I say, and it just makes me so happy.

Words I can definitely understand:
uh-oh
wow
mom (with a slight boston accent)
lights
ball
block

Words I think she is saying:
Emily (pronounced mlee--like one syllable)
mmmm (milk or water...right now it just means something to drink)

Words she understands:
blanket
close (she is fascinated with closing doors, dishwasher, cabinets, refrigerator, etc)

kiss me thru the phone...

My favorite new toy!

I finally broke down and decided to treat myself (a belated christmas gift to me with some tax refund money) and get a 3g iphone. It's fantastic! I am now in the process of getting all my music onto it, and plan on selling my ipod and former blackberry to supplement the cost...but I am super happy about my new toy!

You better believe the "I am t-pain" app was the 1st thing downloaded. :)

every second counts on a clock that's tickin'...gotta live like we're dying

I love this new show on MTV called "the Buried Life".

It follows these 4 Canadian guys who, "Relying on goodwill, guts and gumption travel the globe in a purple transit bus to complete a list of '100 things to do before you die' and to help and encourage others to go after their own lists." They are funded my their own pockets, cold calls to sponsors, and the help of others willing to donate.

What a great concept.

I looked up the background of the show, and found out that these 4 young guys have been doing this project since 2006, long before a contract with MTV came their way.
Inspired by a poem written by Matthew Arnold in 1852 and these words...

But often, in the world's most crowded streets,
But often, in the din of strife,
There rises an unspeakable desire
After the knowledge of our buried life

These guys noticed that their lives were moving so quickly, and they didn't want to miss out on anything. They wanted to experience life, and help others experience life to the fullest as well.

Since their project began in 2006, they have accomplished many things (see theburiedlife.com), and now with their documentary style project hitting MTV they are reaching more people, and encouraging others by asking the simple question...

What do you want to do before you die?

I've started my list...here are some of my ideas...

1) be on a game show
2) learn how to make bread
3) successfully pull off a short pixie haircut
4) learn how to krump
5) meet Sarah Jessica Parker and tell her how much "girls just want to have fun" defined my childhood.

Girls just wanna have fun...oh girls just wanna have fun.

I am feeling a little better about life. haha. (thanks for the pick-me-ups!)
I got my hair re-highlighted and trimmed a bit, and my world is now lookin a little brighter. It really is amazing (and maybe kind of weird) how much my mood is determined each day by my hair. Bad hair day=bad mood Angie.

Plus, Q has been freakin hilarious lately and she has really put me in a better mood.

This is one of her favorite new faces to make all the time.

When I was younger I had two cabbage patch dolls. A blonde, cornsilk, curly haired one, and a little black premie. (crazy right?) I kept both of the dolls all these years (along with my barbies) and have brought out the baby for Q to play with. She loves it!

She carries him around, feeds him, cuddles him, it is the cutest thing. Often times she likes to sit on my lap, cuddling me, while she holds her baby and cuddles him. It just makes me smile.

While on a little outing at Walmart this week I saw this little girls shirt that I just had to buy Q, I'm now quite sure if they realized how 80's it looked and if it was intended to be put into an outfit such as this...but nonetheless it was...look at my little retro baby.

If we had left the house again that day, you better believe she would be wearing two layers of different colored socks...and perhaps some jelly bracelets!

the rhythm is gonna get cha.

My new favorite artist:
Matt Morris, newly signed to Justin Timberlake's record label, performed on Ellen last week....and I fell in love with his music. He later performed his song "bloodline" with Justin later in the show, and then performed "Hallelujah" with Justin at the Hope for Haiti Telethon. I expect big things from this guy. Enjoy!

I sure am glad it's raining, cause no one can see your teardrops in the rain...

I'm in a complete rut.

I hate my hair
I hate my clothes
I hate the same meals that I make
I hate spending most nights alone
I hate being at work with the drama
I hate having no money

I need...something.

It was pointed out to me recently that I never laugh much anymore. I giggle, or say "that's funny", but a good, loud, from the belly laugh has been few and far between. I miss laughing.

I haven't worked out in forever. I have no motivation. I am too tired, too lazy, too depressed...who knows. But I can't seem to get myself out of bed.
The worse part is I can't stop eating...well munching really...and snacking on nothing healthy or "good for me", so now the weight is coming on, which doesn't help the sadness and depression. It's a vicious cycle.
I hate my body.

I don't know what it is that I need exactly.....hopefully I'll figure it out soon.

sorry for the depressing truth bombs...

If the purse is fat....that's where it's at

How do kids pick up on these things?

One day, Q just started putting stuff into this purse, putting it on her arm, and waving goodbye. I just sat there laughing.

She likes to put her disney princess phone, calculator, and other random toys inside.....
I think I may be in trouble.
