Mow the lawn; mow the lawn like I know you'll do

Now that spring is here it's time to start doing the lawn....
PROBLEM
I don't own a lawnmower, nor do I even know how to use one if I did.
So I am seeing if anyone knows of a good lawn service that I can call...or somebody they know that does lawns and is willing to have another house to do. I really need to start finding someone and have no idea where to look.
If you have any suggestions let me know!
Thanks.

'cause we're all just a little bit weird sometimes.

Qiana has some issues. Don't know if they are completely normal, and most of the time it makes me laugh, but I can see some of her issues getting a little annoying at some point. Here are my baby's little "quirks"

1. Eating: Why is is that Qiana will put anything in her mouth

(look at her deer in the headlights look...)

...except BABY FOOD!

This is my biggest frustration, and Kimmy and Myhre have had to talk me down from a complete breakdown on occasion. She has always been such a good eater that I was so sure she would take to baby food quickly.....not the case. She will put everything else in her mouth, including an empty baby spoon, but if she sees food she becomes lock jawed and nothing gets in. I think it's just the act of opening her mouth and taking the food in, that she is protesting, because on the rare occasion that I have gotten food in her mouth, she doesn't spit it out and in fact licks her lips in enjoyment of the food that has graced her palette...such a diva.

(uh-uh you ain't puttin' that in my mouth!)

(tryin' to act like i'm not even there...)

2. Sleeping: I'm afraid my baby has a suffocation fetish. Ever since she was born she had loved the feel of my hand on her cheek, and that simple act has calmed her down easily from her crying. I can tell when she is getting tired because she will grab one/or both of my hands and put them on her face...not on her cheek...literally covering her face. Now she has gotten to the point where she is most comfortable laying in bed with the blankets touching her face on all sides, and often times I will check on her while sleeping and she has pulled the blankets completely over one side of her face.

This worries me a little, so I constantly check on her while napping. She doesn't like the blanket covering up her mouth, which I think makes it okay for now. The funniest thing about it, is that I HATE things touching my face, and would feel so claustrophobic sleeping like this.

3. Bottles: Qiana has shown no interest in feeding herself, and won't even grab onto the bottle while I am feeding her. such a princess. I am trying to get her to hold the bottle on her own, but her coordination needs some work. I think she can do it...the problem is...she doesn't WANT to. I guess I don't blame her. If I had the option of laying around and having someone feed me all the time, I don't think I would be in any rush to do it myself either.

her first attmept

looks like she had is for a couple seconds...and then is easily distracted...

4. Attention: This one isn't so much a frustrating, as an amusing fact about Qiana. The girl can't keep her eyes off me. Whenever I leave the room she follows me..no matter what...and waits until i come back into view.
These positions can't be comfortable...

Let's go to the hop, (oh baby)

The family came into town this year for Easter and it was super fabulous! We ate, played games, watched tv, ate, chatted, decorated eggs, ate, and did other "festive things". Since Qiana is so young I decided to not really do much for her Easter this year, so Emily and I exchanged baskets! It was super fun.

emily's basket....

yes I got her a snuggie!

doesn't she look soooooo cute in her easter dress?

I got quite the haul...

a close-up...and yes that is a Jack Bauer doll, candy grillZ, and some Twilight candies (for me they were a joke...sorry ladies, I am not a fan of "twilight".)

The candy grill...

Of course Qiana did dress up for Easter, along with her cousins, and we headed to church with the family.

We didn't get Elsie in this picture cause she was getting ready at grandma's....sad

The weekend was so fun. Qiana loved looking at everybody and playing with her cousins. Although she didn't give out the smiles very easily, she was very fasinated with all the faces, and loved just looking at everything going on around her.

Kaiya was a my big helper this weekend, and just kept giving Qiana so much loves.

Kaiya helped me decide what Qiana should wear each day, and liked to check on her with me to see if she was still sleeping. One time during Qiana's nap, Kaiya and I brought out my old Barbie's and had a good time. Kaiya decided it was her doll's brithday, so I had to find dresses for all the rest of the Barbie's...and they had better be fancy. I was stressing a little, trying to come up with enough outfits, but Kaiya approved of each one.

Elsie, like always, loved having Angie-Elsie time, and whenever I wasn't holding Qiana, Elsie wanted some love. I don't mind at all though, and quite enjoy it actually. Sometimes Elsie wanted to get in on the snuggling, when Qiana was there too.

One night Elsie came into the room and she and Qiana watched some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a bit. I think Qiana liked being a big girl.

I loved having my family up, and was so sad to see them go. Sunday Qiana and I just rested, caught up on some tv, and recouped from all the fun.

Oh, oh-oh, shes my cover girl

When I look through the pages of a magazine
Still, your pretty face is the prettiest Ive seen
Don't you know I only want to be with you
No other girl could make me feel the way you do
You're my everything

One of the greatest things about having Nena watch Qiana, besides the endless amounts of hugs she gets, is that I get great pictures like these!

she may have started off a little hesitant...

trying not to be too serious...

the money shot...Tyra would be so proud that she is smiling "with her eyes"

As if the Easter pictures weren't cute enough, Nena decided to make Qiana a little princess...

I love the arched eyebrows of "questionning"

my nervous little ballerina...

Let the sunshine in...The sun shine in...

Oh I am so freakin excited that it's warmin' up outside.

I am not a "winter" person at all, and love when Spring finally hits. I have now started to wear my flip-flops (my old friends!) and other cute sandals, along with capri's and tee-shirts with no coat....ah! I feel like I can finally breath.

Yesterday was so nice out that Qiana and I had some outside time.

We laid a blanket on the grass and just sat in the sun. Qiana had to rock her sunglasses of course. It totally reminded me of last summer and hanging out with kimmy and elsie outside watching aaron with the dog or doing the lawn...such good times.

She was so fascinated by her new surroundings, and loved looking at all the dead leaves that currently fill the grass.

I had a cup of ice water that we both shared...and by "shared" I mean she drank out of it, and grabbed it from my lips whenever I dared to drink as well. I guess we'll work on that "sharing" thing later.
At one point she started to get sleepy

(or she was thinking about tanning...who knows)

and just laid down in the blanket. Needless to say, she LOVED it outside, and I'm hoping to make it a daily thing....oh and once the pool is ready you better believe that's gonna be our afternoon hangout spot!

sidenote: another cool thing about it warming up outside is the outfits that Qiana finally gets to wear. I have been waiting for her to be able to wear this outfit since I bought it last august.

Along with her new pearl earrings this girl is ready to hit the country club for a round of golf dont ya think?

a whole new world....a new fantastic point of view

Now that Qiana is sitting up, a whole new world of toys have been introduced

and she is loving it. We spend a lot of time on the floor now, which my back isn't exactly loving..but Qiana is happy as a clam.

Mama and Papa Wise got her this music ball awhile ago

and it has now become her favorite thing. She hasn't quite figured out how it all works, but as long as mommy keeps pushing the buttons to make it light up, roll, and play music...it's all good.

Notice how, even when she is playing with other toys her eyes never leave the ball. Apparently, she has amazing multi-tasking skills already.

I guess it's time to invest in toys (right now our collection is pretty slim) so...any suggestions?
