If I won the lottery, you'd never see me again...

Last weekend, was supposed to be the last girls weekend, our last hoorah, before the holidays, and before we all go our separate ways next year.  But then Emily's grandma died, and she was forced to miss out.  It was really sad that Emily couldn't be with us for a couple reasons 1) Emily LOVES the musical we were seeing, and it was one that she really wanted to see. 2) Without Emily, we had nobody to make fun of.
So it was just Michelle and I on a little day trip to Seattle for some shopping, dining, and seeing "In the Heights".
For lunch I really wanted to try something new, so, from the advice of Uncle Tom, we went to the Steelhead Diner by the Pike Place Market.
(we thought this name was really funny...yeah we're pretty immature)

We ordered the fried cheese curds (also by advice of Tom), and  had a bowl of their clam chowder with bacon and truffle oil (oh my goodness! delicious!), and Michelle ordered the roasted squash and barley (also divine!). After a little walk through the market

we headed up to the 5th avenue theater to see "In the Heights"
I'm sure the classy play go-ers were not amused with our picture taking, but we don't do serious poses...

In the Heights is a musical set on a block in Washington Heights in New york. A predominately spanish area. It tells the story of the residents of this block, as businesses close, residents come and leave, and one wins $96000 in the lottery

The music is absolutely phenomenal, and the actors all did a really good job. Michelle and I had a great time.

After a quick stop at the outlet mall in North Bend, we headed home.  It was a quick trip, but totally fun, and totally worth it. Too bad Emily wasn't there...I guess we will just have to have another last hoorah that will hopefully include her this time!

While I was in Seattle, Qiana spent the day with my friend Vikki and her family. They took a little trip of their own to Leavenworth, and I think you can tell from the pictures that Qiana had a lot of fun!

Vikki took some pictures of Q with the pumpkins. She got a couple, before Q was ready to stand up and keep running around.

Happy Fall!

Every little thing I do, you're on my mind, you're on my mind...

In a recent episoide of Cougar Town, Stan tells Ellie, "there is nothing less sexy than a woman who just talks about her baby". So in honor of me, trying to keep whatever sexiness I have, in tact, here is a pop culture post!

I don't date. The male selection in this neck of the woods is less than ideal, plus even if the selection was more choice, I haven't quite figured out how to do the "single mother dating" thing, so I prefer to keep my crushes completely impossible...therefore, it's completely harmless and just plain fun.

Top 5 Current Celebrity Crushes:

1. Shemar Moore: I think the picture explains it all.  But if you have ever seen him on Ellen, then you know he has an amazing personality and awesome dancing skills to go along with that body and face!

2. Steven Ward: I want to go on his show "Tough Love" just to meet him...I wonder how I can make that work..?  He's tall, good looking, loves his mother, is good with the ladies, and is just plain adorable.

3. Mark Salling (aka: Puck): Love his smile. His voice. His body. All nice.

4: Scott Caan: So adorable, so funny...I'll forgive the short height.

5: Jeremy Renner: He's amazing in "the Hurt Locker" and in Ben Affleck's new film "the Town".

But he won me over when he broke out singing "New York State of Mind" on Jimmy Fallon.

(p.s. look at Jimmy's adorable reaction, when he realizes that Jeremy can really sing)

If they were me and I was you, would you have like a present too? Happy birthday happy birthday

Saturday evening friends and family came over for a Yo Gabba Gabba birthday celebration for my little Qiana.

We ate pizza
Played games like:

Pin the Eye on Muno

and

Brobee's Party in My Tummy Food Toss.

Chloe is a huge Brobee fan...she even took it home with her.

and danced and moved around to Yo Gabba Gabba songs like:
-DJ Lance Says
-Wiggle, Hold still
-The freeze game
 -Head, arms, legs, feet
and
-I like to Dance

(just concentrate on the cute kids in this video...)

Q doing her best "hold still"

I think you can tell from her smile, that Q had a blast.

Then she opened up her presents....such great gifts!!
She got
dress-up clothes
movies
new winter coat
hat and hair accessories
cupcake toys for her kitchen
book of words
puzzle
and a princess get ready kit

I had made some Yo gabba cupcakes. The perfectionist in me knows they could have turned out better, but I think they turned out cute, and tasted good and I was happy about that.
Unfortunately, I think with all the excitement Q wasn't too interested in eating it...but she blew out the candle like a champ.  So for picture sake, I am satisfied.

Then Jared and Lindsay's crew stayed for a little bit, and we hung out, talked, kids watched a movie, and played.  Q got to stay up way past her bedtime, and she loved it.

Emily had made a huge balloon arch for Q's party, and those balloons were a hit with the kids!

I think she was a very satisfied birthday girl!
