I want live like the animals...careless and free...

At the end of March we were supposed to head up to Boise for the weekend as a little mini Bates reunion, but Jared's family got sick (along with the whole city of Pasco apparently), so it got called off. Q was NOT happy. I guess, looking back, I shouldn't have even told her the plans until we were driving there, but anyway she had been talking about seeing her cousins for days, and the disappointment was too much. She even offered to take her doctor's kit up to WA to see what she could do for the group (cute right?). So I tried to think of something we could do that would make her happy. So I decided to take her to the zoo.
True story: after I told her about the new and exciting plan, I checked the weather and apparently that Saturday had a major high wind advisory, so then i became worried that those plans would not work out either!..yeah I was going to be 2 for 2 in the loser mom department. So i even began secretly hoping that Q would do something bad so she could get in trouble, and I wouldn't have to tell her that the zoo wasn't an option either...yeah super mom moment right?
But that morning, we got up and got ready and i decided that we were going to hit up the zoo, and if the wind was coming in, then we would see what we could and go from there....well it turned out that the huge wind storm, turned out to be all bark with no bite, and we had a fantasticly warm and pleasant day at the zoo. Q was super happy. We saw animals, rode the carousel, played in the toy area, had fun on the mini train, played a bit in the water, and headed home tuckered out and satisfied. It was a good mommy/Q day. The girl loves her zoos.

Q insisted on putting her hands up, as if riding a roller coaster, even though we were completely stationary.

Awesome! Looks like it was fun! Though we sure would have loved Q to bring her dr. kit, because that would have made us feel better---at least it would have seriously brightened all our days!
