it's gettin hot in herre....

TOP 5 THINGS I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY COOKING SHOWS:

1. risotto must be the hardest thing to make. it seems like a basic dish that no matter how many times they have to make it, they always mess up. how is that possible? is it that hard? (see hell's kitchen)

2. when in doubt use saffron. it seems like the chefs can make any dish sound exotic or make any dish a success when they add saffron to the ingredients. but what the heck is saffron? (see top chef or hell's kitchen)

3. even experts overcook/under cook pasta. seriously. (see top chef or hell's kitchen)

4. chef's are sexy. Tom on top chef....sexy. Gordon on hell's kitchen....sexy. don't know what it is. but they make me tune in every week.

5. culinary students, sous chef's, etc. have the thickest skin. how does that yelling, constant critiques, and failure not affect them more? i am so jealous. if gordon ramsey ever called me a donkey or told me to "f off" i might cry. (see top chef and hell's kitchen)

IF I HAD ONE WISH...

I WANT AN RV. seriously. it's like the first thing i would purchase if i ever struck it rich. i don't know where the obsession came from, but it's probably influenced heavily by childhood memories of grandpa's RV and the good times we had. i remember taking a roadtrip with grandpa down to Utah to visit uncle Pat at school and being able to play Nintendo the whole way. i thought that so cool. An RV to me conjures up happy thoughts of packing up family and friends and hitting the road on a great adventure, all while watching tv and playing games. like grandpa, i love the fact that someone could be making me a grilled cheese sandwich and lemonade while i look to the highway for our next destination. i think it would be so fun to have those RV friends that you constantly run into at the parks across the US, i mean to beable to say things like "oh hey bob! nice to see you again...how were the grandkids? hit any big weather storms i should know about?" while we both set up our RV's for the night.....how cool would that be? anyway, after having this dream for some time....

I found the RV i want!!

how amazing right? can't you picture some serious fun in this thing? i'll bring the lemonade!

I can see clearly now the rain is gone...

Its amazing how much some alone time can help ones mood. yesterday i spent all day watching random shows, napping, and watching both bourne movies so i can be ready for ultimatum. then today i drove a couple hours to walla walla to spend some quality time with an old friend. just the drive, singing loud to my music, thinking random thoughts, and playing a one sided game of six degrees...all things that make me happy. this weekend was everything my week previous wasn't ---relaxing, enjoyable, and worry free.

because of you i find it hard to trust not only me but everyone around me...

it was a bad week. one moment i was living in a foggy oblivion, the next i was crying for no reason, and the next i wanted people to leave me alone. in my life, i try to surround myself with people or things that bring me joy but sometimes these things let me down. my mood is often determined by the people or events that occupy my life, and this week some events and some people set a bad mood. i know i must brush it off and rely on myself for joy, but sometimes it's hard to bounce back after being hurt.

And i wish you joy and happiness...but above all this i wish you love

TOP 5 FAVORITE "SYTYCD" MOMENTS WITH DOMINIC "D'TRIX" SANDOVAL:

1. the hip hop number. his lift of sabra. his cute tongue thing licking his lips. the chest pump to the beat. so smooth.

2. the rumbas. first with sabra, then with lauren. i thought he was amazing. his face was sexy and seductive, his body smooth. and who could forget the chemistry.

3. the contemporary routine. in the second week dominic knew he had to prove himself. and he did with this awesome routine. he had such emotion.

4. his interviews. dominic was never lacking in the personality department. he was funny, kind, and quick with a joke. he always complimented his partners and the choreographers, and i think that tells alot about his character.

5. second week eliminations (when he found out he was safe from the bottom 3) i was so happy for him when he fell to the crowd and him and sabra just hugged. he wanted this badly and he worked hard for it.

thanks for the memories. he went out a stand up guy and left me with a smile.

And now we've come...to the end of the road...

my heart is heavy right now. dominic was a talented dancer and he entertained me every week. i keep telling myself he got pretty far in the competition and that is something amazing, but i will miss him.

good job dominic!

i will post my tribute to dominic later.

Got some questions that I gotta ask and I...hope you can come up with the answers babe

After last nights show i have a few questions. So here is my...

TOP 5 QUESTIONS I HAVE FOR SYTYCD?

1. Why has Neil been hiding that body under clothes? from now on i think all numbers should be done without his shirt.

2. why can't adam shankman be a guest judge every week? i love him. i think he's so funny, and really understands the art form.

3. would that contemporary routine about mia micheals' dad have gotten such rave reviews if it hadn't be so "personal"? i don't think so. i think if the story was just about some dad and daughter it would have been just a normal contemporary number. don't get me wrong. i liked it...but i didn't cry...and i usually cry.

4. what are these "record books" that all the judges and choreographers keep saying that danny will be in? "one of the greats"....really? really?

5. why do the judges keep critiquing the dancers about the choreography like they have something to do with it? this drives me batty. atleast last night they finally started to point out that perhaps that was an issue with the choreographers and not the dancers....so hopefully that will stop...but probably not.

you give me fever...

two words. THE KISS! so hot. dominic...why do you do this to me?

i'm not sick but i'm not well...

I just needed everyone to know that i am stressing about tonights SYTYCD performance. the performance show is taped on monday so there are always people who post online information about the show, for example, who the partners were and what dance (or in this weeks case what DANCES) they did. i hope my dominic can pull through with the votes. if anyone wants to prove how much they love me, they can pick up the phone and dial as many times as they can...i need him around.

please vote for me! -love dominic

i think i'm turning japanese.....

last night was the annual stake softball against the japanese agriculture students. soooooo funny. after the 7th inning against the singles ward, they turned on their stereo and took some time out to do a little "chicken dance". i was dying from laughter. the youth of the stake beat the jv team, and by beat i mean slaughtered. the singles ward wasn't so lucky. i left after like the 6th inning, when we were winning 16-7 because it was starting to get a little cold and i was kind of bored (with no bleachers i couldn't sit high up on my throne and mock the players like i usually do). well i am laying in bed watching "damages" (an awesome new show with glenn close on fx network), when mitch poth calls to tell me that they lost. how? you may be asking yourself. well mitch said that along with japanese gaining some momentum, we had some players on our team that just "sucked"...mitch isn't a believer in the "everyone gets a trophy" thinking....and i have to agree. at one point, apparently, uncle david (big suprise) took daniel justensen off the field because he wasn't doing good. hilarious. even in church games us earl's can't help but be competitive. i love my family. as cali said last night, each uncle is weird, but we love them.
